Chowder Grows Up

Act 1
In the beginning, Charizard, Chowder, and squirtle are making “Flam-O-Burgers”, and Mung tells Chowder that when two are touched together, “Kablooey!” It explodes the kitchen. Chowder doesn’t listen and when he is about to put them together, Magicarp stops him and reminds him.

He tries to tell him how to make them, although Chowder doesn’t listen; he is so bored. Then, he is imaginating about “Flam-O-Burgers” getting married, and everybody screams after Chowder touches two of the Flam-O-Burgers together (except Truffles), and the whole kitchen explodes and Chowder and Mung float up in the sky and land into the hospital in the middle of the night, with bruises and scratches and stuff.

Mung is telling Chowder that soon he and Truffles will retire and Chowder will be in charge of the Catering Company. Chowder tells Mung that the show Chowder is actually about him being a apprentice, and Mung nearly dies, and asks a doctor intern for help. Chowder objects, since being Mung’s apprentice is what the show is about. He then goes into a musical number “I Don’t Wanna Grow Up”. He holds the end note for twenty years, which he never noticed. Then Chowder tells Mung if they’re going to finish the Flam-O-Burgers, and Mung explains that they’ve already did that twenty years ago.

Then they decided to retire, but before they did that, and Mung then flies him-since “anything’s possible in these thirty minute specials” and shows him that by not growing up he made Panini and Gorgonzola jealous about getting married (Panini) and being his nemesis (Gorgonzola).

Then, Mung takes him to Gazpacho’s store, which has closed down and a recorder telling them about his fake future..

Chowder then tries to choose his new apprentice. After turning down all the others, he finds a timid Scraps hiding in the corner (his real name is never revealed because Chowder decides to call him Scraps).

Mung then tells Chowder that he is ready to grow up. Then Scraps throws up (vomits) in his box and the part ends when Mung says, “No, I said grow up, not throw up.”

Act 2
Chowder and Scraps try to make some food, but easily fail. Discouraged, Chowder, along with Scraps, flee Marzipan. They get lost in the raging hot shmahara desert, with no water..or food. Then the two faint.

However, Gazpacho finds them and takes them back to his cave. They come to, and Chowder is surprised. Gazpacho wants to eat Scraps, but Chowder stops him. Gazpacho is then stung by a scorpion. Chowder insists this wasn’t the life he wanted, and heads back Marzipan.

He then makes a recipe. The other characters are appalled at this. Chowder reveals he created a new recipe. Scraps then tastes the food, and the others are shocked when he doesn’t die, which Panini replied “Hey, Scraps ate it and didn’t die”! They then taste the food, too, and realize it doesn’t taste bad at all.

Then it reveals the other character’s futures, and reveals Chowder and Panini get married and have 50 babies together! Adult Panini and Adult Chowder are about to kiss, then kid Chowder appears, and rejects this future. Kid Panini shows up and tells Chowder they look happy together. Adult Chowder remarks that they were cute kids, then tells adult Panini to stop having babies. The episode ends when Scraps is carried off by the babies and Chowder and Panini chase after them. This is possibly what might happen if Chowder injures Mung with Flammaburgers again.

The Party Cruise

Shopping Spree

Truffles becomes very sick, meaning that she must remain in bed and allow Mung Daal, Chowder, and Shnitzel to take care of the kitchen, the counter, and most importantly, the money box. As an excuse to go spend the money, Mung and Chowder break a Thing Bing Ling Ding machine so they have to buy a replacement. On arrival at the mall, though they are all warned not to be wasteful with the money, Chowder buys Mung new sunglasses to help him with the ladies. Unable to resist the idea that the useless junk available at the mall helping him get ladies, Mung caves in and the three go on a shopping spree, going to every shop including a tanning/plastic surgery place, where Mung gets plastic surgery on his face. When they get home with their useless junk, a motato seller arrives to take Mung’s money in exchange for an order of motatoes at that time. The money box is opened, only to reveal that it is empty, Mung panics, realising that not only have they spent so much money in one outing that they can no longer afford food for the kitchen, but the can no longer afford the animation for the show. Then the voice actors, Dwight Schultz, Nicky Jones, John DiMaggio, and Tara Strong, using their in-character voices, come up with a plan to have a car wash so they can get enough money to get the animation back. When the animation comes back, Truffles comes down to the kitchen and discovers that there is a truckload of expensive stuff in the kitchen. Mung comes up with a plan to prevent her from finding out what happened, telling her that she is having a fever dream, but the plan is foiled when she spills her soup in his face, reverting the plastic surgery. Enraged to find out what really happened while she was sick in bed, Truffles forces the trio to work for Ms. Endive in order to return the money they spent.

The Hot Date

The episode starts at Marzipan City Police Department solving who flooded Ms. Endive’s pool with pudding, and the suspects are Mung, Chowder, Shnitzel, and Truffles. While this happens Sergant Hogey thinks he’s going to be late for his blind date. He wasn’t late, and he had thought his blind date was the Mayor’s assistant from The Powerpuff Girls, whose face is still hidden by the camera, who, in fact, wasn’t.

Endive picks Hogey up (with a motorbike) and drives away. But the sergants blind date was actually waiting for him in the Chinese Resturant next to it. This was the first Chowder episode of 2009.

S02E05 – Chowder’s Catering Company / The Catch Phrase

Chowder’s Catering Company: Chowder makes a disgusting sandwich called Foofinscoops which nobody likes, so Mung and Shnitzel make him throw it away. At the trash can, he meets a small, black, puffy creature who likes the sandwich. Chowder then names Kevin. The creature invites his friends to Mung’s place so they can eat Chowder’s yucky foods. So, Chowder creates his own catering company. Shnitzel finds out and is about to tell Mung, but Chowder hits him in the head with a frying pan and throws him in a barrel. He does the same with Truffles and Mung (with the same barrel). The creatures tell Chowder to throw them into a bottomless pit, but Chowder realizes that his friends are more important then having his own catering company, so he throws the sandwich into the pit and tells the creatures to shoo. He says,”No food for you!” then he frees Mung and the others. Mung tells Chowder that he would call the police but he is too proud; Chowder has proven that he can cook and run a Catering Company all on his own. Mung tells Chowder that they all maybe working for him one day, which causes Shnitzel to throw himself into the pit.

The Catch Phrase: After Chowder finds out that the best chef in the world, Chef Halond Daze is coming to town, he asks Mung Daal to go. Mung just finds the trip boring, but everyone else is dazzled by Chef Halondeze’s catch phrase. After Mung realizes that everybody has a catch phrase, he comes up with one of his own, and challenges Chef Halond Daze to a cooking match. However, Mung is no match for Halond Daze’s catch phrase, and he makes Mung spill his dish. Mung gets angry and says something bad that Chowder picks up quickly. Chef Halond Daze then puts soap in Chowder and Mung’s mouths.

The Flying Flinger Lingons: When a troop of acrobats come to Mung Dall’s kitchen for an order, Chowder becomes impressed by their antics and starts to dream of life in the circus. Unfortunately, his focus on the Lingon’s aerial feets are a distraction to his duties in the kitchen and a hindrance to Mung Dall. Will Chowder leave Mung Dall for a life in the Big Top?
